PROJECT TPYE: Unconventional Main Church Logo, International Logo Design
Boom Church is a young and energetic church based in southern France with multiple gatherings. While most church aesthetics in France lean more traditional and conservative, this group was unapologetic about reaching the next generation through passionate worship and authentic community. Their name comes from Revelation 19:6-7, which describes a vast multiple of thunderous praise, so the main church design concept centered around this word mark identity.
With an average congregational age of 35, they wanted a brand that felt fresh and bold, but wouldn’t look dated in a few years. We also needed to create an unconventional church logo design that included translated logo variations to serve the different languages represented in the church.
The BOOM word mark is striking in its Saint Laurent blue that’s often associated with editorial styling. The solid, structured lettering is a strong base while the textured treatments introduce movement.
Some of the benefits of breaking away from traditional church logo designs can lead to opportunities for your church to communicate culture and personality without relying on typical church logo elements. Unexpected typography can make a church feel less institutional and help create a recognizable identity without using a traditional religious symbol.
A church logo doesn’t have to look like a traditional church to communicate that it is a church. Boom Church has artwork that communicates their personality with confidence and clarity so the community around them knows what they’re building before they ever walk through the door.
Could your church use a nontraditional ministry brand that breaks the mold? You don’t have to be a multi-site church in France to benefit from a nontraditional church identity. Perhaps your church has a unique name and you’ve been wondering how to package that in terms of church branding.
Whether you’re planting a church or refreshing a brand that no longer reflects the group, there’s room to build something with a personality all to its own. If you’re ready to build something unapologetic, let’s get something scheduled.
