Photographers have an incredible front-row seat to many of life’s biggest moments. They’re tasked with capturing those moments to ensure they can stand the test of time. Why should their logo design be any different? We were thrilled to work alongside Hillside Film + Photo and help bring their small business logo design to life in a timeless way.

Bright Coal not only helped us rebrand Hillside, they showed us who we’ve been all along. We finally knew we’d have a brand that lasted beyond time and trends.
— Micah Hill, Hillside Photo + Film

Micah and Hannah are a husband and wife duo who focus on personal touches over posh when it comes to their shooting style. When we sat down for their mood meeting, they already had a clear vibe they wanted to convey. Think: backyards over cityscapes meets catching up with old friends. They wanted their rebranded logo design to be relaxing and full of trust.

They’re local to a small ski slope area that they can see from their back deck. Playing off of their last name and a nod to the slopes, the concept was born. The custom-lettering of their word mark and versatile adobe fonts create an approachable and classic aesthetic. If you’re ever in the PA area planning a unique wedding, hit them up!

Creating their logo animation was an added win! It’s subtle, but one we could stare at all day! The warmth of the logo design helps reflect their personal style and the emotional connection they love to form with their clients.

If you’re considering a small business of your own, think of the benefits of a logo design that comes from the heart. Yes, great work like incredible photography might speak for itself, but don’t let a perception gap be the reason you miss your next client.

A thoughtful logo design can help elevate your small business brand and create a greater sense of trust with people who are searching for your services. Choosing to invest in a simple logo helps communicate your attention to detail long before a potential client can skim the portfolio.

In a crowded market, that first impression might be all it takes for someone to keep scrolling. Invest in your small business through a fresh logo design. This reinforces that you care about your business just as much as you care about your craft. If you’re interested in bringing your side hustle to a more formal status, consider our affordable, small business logo design process. It would be our joy to help capture your vision!
