Church Rebrand Logo Design: Summit Church

Project Client: Summit Church || @summitchurchtoledo

Project Type: Church Rebrand

Lead Designer: Rachel Baker

The name of a church carries a lot of meaning. Summit Church is a historic church in Toledo, Ohio, entering a new chapter of ministry and mission. Formerly known as First Apostolic Church of Toledo, the church chose a new name to better reflect its vision of gathering people together for the purpose of discipleship, community, and gospel impact.

The name Summit carries a meaningful connection to the city through Summit Street, one of Toledo’s most recognizable and historic areas. With a legacy spanning decades, Summit Church is focused on launching gatherings throughout the Toledo metro that lead to transformed lives, churches planted, and missions.

The church rebrand logo design includes a hidden starfish element representing community and connection and a refined “S” shape woven into the mark. Light rays were incorporated to symbolize the hope and peace of Christ radiating outward, while the form of the logo reflects the idea of multiplication through two elements branching out from one another. The final identity creates a simple, timeless symbol that communicates a church who desires to send members out with purpose.

Whether you’re starting fresh or navigating a season of growth and change, thoughtful branding can help communicate your story. If your church is ready to explore a rebrand or create a logo that reflects who you are, we’d love to help you take the next step.
