Freedom Blend Coffee is directly connected to Freedom for Youth Ministries, a Christian nonprofit in Des Moines, Iowa. The coffee shop ministry was founded in 2011 to provide a place of employment and job training for high school students and young adults. This parachurch ministry runs after school programs, mentoring and opening the neighborhood style coffee shop was one of the ways they carried out their mission.

A custom bird mark in the logo design felt right since they wanted to capture things like freedom, hope and forward movement that inspires young people to break free from difficult circumstances.

Freedom Blend Coffee has shifted its focus from a retail coffee shop to becoming a dedicated coffee roaster. We wanted to be sure their coffee roaster branding worked well on wholesale packaging, merchandise, and digital marketing for their online sales platform.
This coffee roaster logo design reflects a handcrafted, outdoorsy aesthetic with timeless typography that helps the logo system tell the ongoing story of progress.
