You’re amazing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out the form. We’re so pumped! Here’s a few things to help set expectations for going live on an episode.

01. Before the Show

We use Streamyard to broadcast the show to YouTube. Once your date is confirmed, Josh will give you a link to join up (sort of like a Zoom call).

Here are a few extra items that will help make our video as great of an experience as possible for our viewers:

  • Take a look at the quick + easy instructions to join Streamyard

  • Join the Streamyard link at 12:50 pm EST

  • Have a window or light behind your camera

  • Use headphones and/or an external mic if possible

  • Make sure you’re in a quiet space (no coffeeshops, construction sites, street corners, etc)

  • Hop on fast internet. Live broadcasts can use some serious bandwidth.

  • We’ll let you know the topic the week of the show, so you can collect your thoughts and be “simmering” on the idea before we jump in together.

02. During the Show

To kick off every show, Ashley Ulmer and I (Josh) will open things up. Preview our guests and/or topic. While this is happening, you’ll be in a “waiting room” / green room type of deal where you can see what’s going on, but you’re not “on stage” yet. Once we introduce you, I will bring you on to the broadcast.

Think of this as a meeting up with new friends for coffee.

Once you come “on stage”, I’ll ask you to introduce yourself (Who are you, where are you from, what you do). Then we’ll determine the order everyone will answer in. After that, we’ll jump into the topic and riff for about an hour!

04. After the Show

Stay for a 10 minute post mortem.

If you can, we ask our guests to hang out with us for a few minutes after the live stream is over. We’d love to hear how you think the show went and get any notes or ideas you may have for future episodes.

Thanks again for choosing to do this with us! We’re so excited to have you.
